Language learning can be scary and off-putting, Speak Like A Native exists to turn this into a positive experience. We want our learners to become confident communicators who are quite happy to make mistakes. Our team is committed to making this possible for Speak Like A Native learners, regardless of age or background. We’re also very welcoming to those who believe they’re not good at languages.
Whether it’s learning a nursery rhyme as a toddler, beginning to put sentences together at school or ordering a meal in a restaurant, it’s all about self-belief. That’s why encourage all our learners to put away the apps and have a go in the real world.
Our aim
In 2016 we set up Speak Like A Native with the simple aim to get the UK speaking foreign languages. There are so many benefits that come with knowing another language, including travel, work and education. We do what we do because we believe this can be life-changing, as well as a lot of fun.
Today, our programmes run in nurseries, school and care homes, with plans for businesses and workspaces in the pipeline.
Who we are
Speak Like A Native founders, Stuart and Greta, have spent the last 35 years in language education – running language schools, teaching, designing courses and training teachers.
Holly, SLAN’s Operations Manager, has a background in teaching and a love for the Spanish language and culture.
SLAN’s marketing & customer support team, Giulia, Juan and Skye, take our clubs & courses to new venues and handle all learner queries.
Les, Company Director and Co-founder provides the business brains.

Our Language Guides
We call our passionate teachers Language Guides. They may be students themselves or qualified teachers, but all have been trained by Speak Like A Native and passed standard vetting checks, and are fluent in their chosen language.
All Language Guides have an Enhanced DBS certificate and Safeguarding for children level 1 training.
